Artworks

A selection of my art projects, past and present.

new work.

No particular theme has emerged yet (beyond my usual obsession with portals, thresholds and other worlds).

Flatland.

A series of six digital collages produced for an exhibition at the O3 gallery in Oxford shortly before its closure in 2015. The series is partly inspired by the novella by Edwin Abbot "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions", as well as my ongoing obsession with portals, thresholds and other worlds (probably dating back to a childhood fascination with the Narnia series that colours almost all my creative work).

Limited edition prints from this series are available from my web shop.

Porthleven Prize.

Various works made in response to a 10 day residency at Porthleven in Cornwall in association with Bath Spa University.

"Legend" collaborative work between me and Sae Murai. This has travelled to various exhibitions including Black Swan Open 2015, Transformed Land at the Brewhouse in Taunton and the Porthleven Prize exhibitions in Oxford and Bath. The work depicts a map of Porthleven made from pins and thread, and my text observations of the town as we walked from Porthleven to Loe Bar.

The Porthleven Collection are six digital collages with accompanying short story.

Home is a novella made into a one-off handmade book.

Long Peter is a collaborative work between Emily Furness and I, comprising of a metal buoy etched with a transcript of a story told to us by old Porthleven resident, Vic Strike. We dragged the buoy in the sea off the back of Oscar’s boat (another Porthleven gentleman). This artwork is in a private collection, but you’ll be able to get a copy of Vic’s story via my shop soon when it opens.

Home, Legend, and Limited edition prints from the Collection are available from my web shop.
